The Blessings of Justification
Are you Joy-filled today? As Christians, we should always be full of supernatural Joy.
1. The Blessings of Justification
Do you know, in your heart, that you are justified? What is Justification? “Justification is the judicial act of God, by which he pardons all the sins of those who believe in Christ, … and treats them as righteous in the eye of the law.” The war is over! Jesus “’himself bore our sins’ in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; ‘by his wounds you have been healed.’” (1 Peter 2:24). It is from this Justification that flows the following truths: Peace, Access, and Future Hope.
2. Real Assurance
How do I know that I will endure in the present between now and future glory? “If God saved us when we were his enemies, surely He will keep on saving us now that we are His children. There is a wrath to come, but no true believer will experience it.” (1 Thess. 1:9-10; 5:8-10). “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).
3. The Joy of Justification (Our Response)
Now we have peace with God, unlimited access to Him, a future certainty with Him, undeniable proof of His love, and assurance that nothing can separate us from the Love of God. How should we react? It is written in verse 11 that “Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.” To boast means to be joyfully confident of something.
So “let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16), for our Father is worthy to receive glory and honor and power.
