Here I Am, Send Me
Matthew 9:35-38/Romans 10:13-15
By Pastor Rachel
Sometimes God brings us together to build His church; sometimes He sends us away to different places to be his ambassadors in this world. Today’s sending service reminds us that we are sent by God as His witnesses. Actually, every service is a sending service, but we are especially reminded of that today as we say goodbye to some of our beloved brothers and sisters. Today, our Lord of harvest is sending them out into His harvest field. How can we be prepared to be God’s ambassadors?
1. Meditate on God’s Word
Do not let the word of God depart from your mouth, for His word is a lamp to your feet and a light for your path. “Meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful” (Joshua1:8 NIV).
2. Remember God’s Presence
God is advancing in His kingdom, so be encouraged by His presence wherever you are going. He says to you as He said to Joshua, “As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you or forsake you” (Joshua 1:5 NIV).
3. Keep the “Send Me” Heart
Jesus said in Luke 10:2 that “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” He also said in John 20:21 that “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” Every morning, God is sending you. To your workplace, to the supermarket, or to your school…to be his witness.
Dear brothers and sisters, be prepared, and go forward to be the light and salt of the world.
